Born and raised in Lancaster, PA. He graduated from Conestoga Valley High School, where he earned 4 Varsity Letters – 2 in Basketball, 1 in Football and 1 in Soccer. He graduated from Millersville University with a BS Education – Spanish, and also graduated from East Stroudsburg with a M. Ed. Sport Management. Doug has earned the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year 1999-2000 and also was awarded a Key to the City of Scranton 2001. He was receiver of the Lancaster County Sports Hall of Fame Volunteer of the Year Award in 2019. Doug was Assistant Track & Field Coach at Conestoga Valley (1990-1995), Assistant Boys Basketball Coach at Conestoga Valley (1984-1992), Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Thaddeus Stevens (1992-1994), Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach, East Stroudsburg University (1994-1998), Head Men’s Basketball Coach/Assistant Athletic Director at Marywood University (1998-2001), Associate Head Men’s Basketball Coach at DeSales University (2001-2008) and Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Saint Francis (PA) University (2008-2010). He has been involved in his community from 1986-1990 as a Coach with the Eden Manor Swim Team and from 2012 to present as a Coach with CATS AAU Basketball. Doug worked part-time at the Intelligencer Journal sports Department (1986-1995) and from 2011 to present he is a Merchant at Ollie’s Bargain Outlet. Doug became a member of the Board of Directors of Lancaster County Sports Hall of Fame in 2020 and currently Chairs the Award Committee.
