McCaskey has experienced its share of success in track and field and that has extended to the cross country course. The Red Tornado finished near the top of Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 1 last year. The teams are hoping to give Manheim Township a run the section title this year.
Coach Derek Jennings says the building blocks are in place for a "strong season and showing in the league and district meets."
Ruby Garner-Valle (left in bottom photo) and Kristin Geissinger lead the girls team. Geissinger says they want to "show the younger generation how to be good teammates and set a standard."
On the boys side, Benjamin Gillespie (left in top photo) and Elijah Sollenberger lead the way. Sollenberger says the goals are to "make States and improve on last year's results." Both Coach and runners say "good communication" is a key for the teams.
