Jebbeh Ngafua is one of the top jumpers returning to Lancaster-Lebanon League track & field this season, and the senior will be counted to provide leadership for Elizabethtown’s girls team this spring.

Ngafua, after spending her freshman year as a middle sprinter, moved over to the jumps as a sophomore. In 2024, she placed third in the L-L League Championships in the triple jumpat 36-6 1/2 and took sixth in PIAA District 3 Class AAA at 36-1.5.

Last season she had a solid day at the L-L Championships, taking second in the triple jump with a personal-best 37-2 and sixth in the long jump at 17-7. Last year, she also high jumped 5-0 during the season and ran on the Bears’ 400-meter relay team.

Unfortunately, she didn’t attend the district meet. This year she has her sights on that, as well as being a leader to whom her teammates can look.

She has experience providing emotional support as a geriatric patient student intern at Masonic Village, as well as volunteering for Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health and Ephrata Wellspan.

“It teaches patience and a positive outlook,” says Ngafua, who wants to become a nurse. “Sometimes things won’t be going the way we want them.”
