Ephrata star long distance runner Kyle Reidenbaugh remembers how he got started running.

"It was during Covid. I wanted to get healthy and it was something I could do alone. It was accessible and I kept going," Reidenbaugh said. He also credits his sister for inspiriing him to run track and cross country.

The junior runs the 3200 and 1600 meter races. While he is competitive, Reindenbaugh says it's not cutthroat.

"I like the community in distance running. You get to know teammates, run all year together Everyone is looking for you and wants you to do well. Competitive rivals will push you to do better too," he said.

Reidenbaugh was First Team All-Section 1 in cross country and has advanced to states. He helped the Mounts win a share of the Sction 1 title in track.

"Ephrata may not be as big as some schools in Section 1, but we lean on different athletes. Everyone does their part, "" he said.

He's setting iindividual goals on the track this spring, " I'm working on a lot of consistencey, increasing my mileage, working on weaknesses, putting in the work every day," Reidenbaugh said.

Reindenbaugh showcases another talent off the track and course. He plays saxaphone in the Ephrata Community Band. He's a top flight student as well, enjoying math and science and is a memberof the National Honor Society.
