“Get the job done!” Joshua Reyes tells his baseball teammates on the diamond at McCaskey. Josh thinks this McCaskey team is on the verge of legitimately competing for a top spot in Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 1.

Josh says his coach, Gilbert Vega, stresses fundamentals in practice developing a team that is “sure to compete,” especially if they play together and play smart.

Primarily, Josh plays third base, however he can play catcher and pitcher when called upon.

This year’s McCaskey’s team includes 9 seniors and 12 freshmen with a few juniors and sophomores mixed in. The ace of the pitching staff is Andrew Carlisle, returning as a three-year starter.

In school, Josh enjoys studying History and English. And he is active in the Outdoor Club, where he and others enthusiastically learn camping and fishing skills.

Josh has plans after high school to prepare for a vocational career by attending Williamsport Technical Institute in northern Pennsylvania, advertised as “what college can be – a place where getting your hands dirty isn’t just accepted, it’s required.”
