This year Janae Patterson will be a four-year starter at point guard for Pequea Valley girls basketball team.
Janae has already scored over 1,000 points in her high school career and hopes to surpass the school’s record for points.
More importantly she wants to lead her younger teammates to play as one unit and to succeed beyond last year’s second round of the state tournament. She will lead with “Play for God” as her inspiration.
This season a key opponent within Section 4 for Pequea Valley is Columbia, and Janae’s eyes target non-league teams Oley Valley and Upper Dauphin.
At Pequea Valley, Janae is a member of the Varsity Club, was the soccer team captain, and played for the “G20” AAU traveling basketball team competing in tournaments in New York, New Jersey and South Carolina.
Janae currently is undecided about her future. If she chooses college, she is considering Penn State or West Chester universities where she would pursue sports management as a major and plan to play basketball. She is looking for guidance from above, saying “Put your identity into God”!
