Don Schneider was an outstanding member of the football and track teams at McCaskey High School. He was captain of the football team. He attended the University of Pennsylvania and played halfback, playing
when Penn was ranked in the top ten nationally. He was awarded Honorable Mention All American, All East, and All Ivy League.
Schneider played pro football for the Buffalo Bills and played first-team defense when they defeated Baltimore in the playoffs and lost to the Cleveland Browns for the American Football League Championship.
Schneider coached football and track at several high schools, including West Lampeter, Sharon Hill, Springfield, Bethlehem, and in New Jersey at North Plainfield, Springfield, and Watchung Hills. He also coached at Lehigh University.
Schneider was inducted into the McCaskey Athletic Hall of Fame and the Susquehanna Chapter of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Hall of Fame.
