J. Freeland Chryst Award
At Lancaster Catholic, Walt Legenstein (Class of 1965), was a three-year letter winner in football, track, and wrestling.
In football, Legenstein played halfback and defensive back. In track, he competed in the mile run. In wrestling, in his senior year, he qualified for the Pennsylvania Catholic Interscholastic State Wrestling Championships and he won the Gold Medal in overtime with a 10-9 decision.
In 2009 LCHS inducted Legenstein into their Athletic Hall of Fame.
