Ken Gerber has been committed to youth sports in Lancaster County for over 40 years whether as a coach or administrator.

He has been involved with the Lanco Midget Baseball League since 1991 to the present. He has served in various administrative roles in that league for 35 years. He was instrumental in the consolidation of all the Midget League teams into one league and currently is responsible for running the LNP Midget Tournament at Penn Medicine Stadium each year.

Other organizations that Gerber has volunteered his time are:

Hempfield High School boys basketball coach – 1986-2013. He served as a volunteer assistant basketball coach for 27 years at all levels of the program (9th grade, JV and varsity).

Hempfield Youth Association – 1984-2005. Ken served as the league secretary for HYA from 1990 to 2000. He was the head coach of the boys basketball 5th and 6th-grade travel team from 1990 to 2005. He was the head coach of the 16U baseball team from 1984 to 2001.

Hempfield Association of Midget Sports – 1986-2009. Ken served as the HAMS president for seven years. He served in various other roles during his 23 years with the organization, including headcoach of the football A teams, assistant coach of the B and C teams, as well as equipment manager.

Penn Manor SD - 2014-present. Ken serves as an assistant varsity basketball coach and is an advisor to the JV and junior high basketball team.
