Damien Henry played football, basketball, and track for McCaskey High School in 1987-90. Henry played on both sides of the ball and played on special teams. He rarely left the field. During his junior and senior years, he scored 20 touchdowns in 22 games. He scored in almost every possible way: rushing (11), receiving (4), kick returns (3), interception return (1) and threw a TD pass.
In his junior year, he was named first team Lancaster-Lebanon League kick returner and second team at running back. In his senior year, he was named first-team kick returner and second team at defensive back.
In basketball, Henry was a starting point guard for two years and was a co-captain in his senior year. That team won the Section 1 title and lost in the L-L championship game. In track, he won 8 gold medals in the L-L Championships. He also won 2 District 3 gold medals in the 4 X 400 relay, where he ran the anchor leg.
In college, Henry played football at Clarion University, where he was a running back. Henry made second team All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in 1992. He is second on Clarion’s all-time rushing list for carries in a season with 226 (1993). In a 1991 game, he carried the ball 36 times, good for fourth in school history.
Henry started coaching football, basketball and track at McCaskey in 2000. After a 10-year stint there, he went to Coatesville High School to coach football and track. He was special teams co-ordinator for the 2012 team that advanced to the state fnals. As the head track coach at Coatesville, he has a record of 80-3-1. His teams have won 14 Chesmont League and 5 District 1 championships. Henry is still coaching football and track at Coatesville.
